Special Prawns Masala - Seema D’Souza, Bangalore Ingredients: Cleaned Prawns 600 gms Onion 1 small size Garlic 6-7 Flakes Red chilies 10 nos Whole dhania 1 tbsp Mustard 1/4 tsp Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp Red chili powder 1/2 tsp Vinegar 1 1/2 tbsp Coconut oil 1/2 cup Salt to taste Method: Marinate the cleaned prawns in a little salt, chili powder and turmeric powder for 15 mins. Grind together onion, garlic, red chilies, dhania, mustard, cumin with vinegar and very little water. Heat a little oil in a non stick pan and fry the prawns in it for 2mins, until they swirl and keep aside. Heat half the quantity of oil in a kadai and fry the masala for about 10-15 mins on low flame. Gradually keep on adding the left over oil. When the masala is dry add the prawns and cook for 5mins. If you want it to be spicier then add some more chili powder. Only coconut oil should be used for this recipe. |
