Konkani Samudai Jayanagar Picnic
Bangalore, Dec 4: The Konkani Samudai Jayanagar members took some time off
and organized a picnic to the picturesque Ursuline Franciscan Convent premises
near Kengeri. The point of gathering was Jayanagar Church from where almost
about 100 members of Samudai started in two buses at around 8.30am.
Mr. Lawrence Saldanha - president
of Samudai welcomed all participants upon arriving at the venue, followed by Mr.
Lionel D’souza - secretary conducting the programme with introduction of all the
participants. This was followed by outdoor games. While men were busy testing
their talent in outdoor games like cricket and volley ball, ladies were enjoying
the douche, dog n bone, throw ball and later cricket. After a lot of laughter
and fun with outdoor games, all the people gathered to have drinks and
beverages. While men were getting ready with a glass in their hands to challenge
the ladies with huge lot of fun filled Konkani songs accompanied with music from
the guitar of Mr Percy Pereira. Also the majority people danced to the tunes of
the songs, till all felt its time to fill the tummy with a good buffet lunch,
that was prepared by Silver Spoons Caterers JP Nagar.
After lunch everyone picked their lucky tickets and tried their luck with a
housie game. Many made it a lucky day by winning quite a few prizes. The day
came to an end with tea/coffee being served and every one hopping into the buses
and traveling to the destination for an hour or so and dispersing to reach their
home with an excellent memories to cherish.
