Kanara Catholic Association, Bangalore celebrates Monthi Fest and conducts its 57th AGM

Bangalore, Oct 6:
The Kanara Catholic Association of Bangalore had its 57th Annual General Body meeting on the 11th of September 2011 at the Catholic Club. The day began with Honoring and celebrating the birth of Our Beloved Mother Mary at the St Josephs School Chapel. The solemn mass was celebrated by Fr Sebastiona S.J. and was made more beautiful with the music of the melodious choir under Dr Patricia Pinto especially the children who sang a few numbers in Konkani and English.

The mass was followed by the traditional ‘Phula Udonche’ (throwing of flowers) by the children . All the enthusiastic children did a great job of making Mother Mary look beautiful with loads of colorful petals surrounding her. This was followed of course for the usual scramble by the kids for the kobu (Sugarcane). After this lovely start to the day, and after a sumptuous breakfast sponsored by Christine and Brig Gerry Gonsalves, the body got down to serious business of the AGM.
