Gerald Pinto Elected President of SAKK,
Marathahalli

Bangalore, Sep 25: It was another remarkable year for the members of
St.Anne’s Konkan Kutaam (SAKK) to get together for their sixth AGM at St.
Anthony’s Chapel on 25 September. It was a day for SAKK members to recall all
the activities carried out in the year 2010-2011, to cherish the memories of
their hard efforts and contributions to strengthen SAKK, and to applaud
themselves for making SAKK a progressive Konkan Kutaam.
Mr. Charles Gomez was the Chief Guest of Honor and
graced the occasion with an inspirational speech that touched many of SAKK
members to own up responsibility to strengthen SAKK further. He shared his
thoughts and experience of being on a committee. He emphasized that the
participation and involvement of the members in managing a committee could
helping in developing and improving one’s own capabilities and skills such as
communication, planning and organization, delegation of duties, self-confidence,
conducting meetings, and building social network. These aspects would eventually
help groom peoples’ personality and life skills.
This year SAKK introduced three new awards to recognize and appreciate the
talent and contribution of SAKK members:
- SAKK Talent Award
- SAKK Special Award
- SAKK Academic Excellence Award
The SAKK members elected the new Executive Committee for 2011-2012 by inducting
as many energetic, enthusiastic, and potential youngsters on the committee
keeping in mind the needs of SAKK to widen its base, to bring in new Konkani
speaking families into SAKK by reaching out to them, and to solidify the aims
and objectives of SAKK on which it stands today.
Games, Housie, and American auction was conducted by Rayan Miranda (Puthneo) and
James Miranda (Bappu). The food was prepared and served by the members of SAKK.
Mr. Minguel Lobo and family sponsored the expenses for the AGM.
