Bangalore, Sep 8: Konkani community in Rajajinagar celebrated our traditional “Nativity Feast” (Monthi Fest) on 8th September at Assumption Church Rajajinagar. RKCWA organized this celebration. Being a family feast, we started the celebrations at 8.00 a.m. by offering flowers to Infant Mary.

The children’s and devotees showered the Mother Mary with flowers. Nearly 700 devotees gathered in the church premises. Rev Fr. Jochim Rodrigues, Rev Fr. Jochim D’souza along with our Parish Priest Rev Fr. Joseph Meneaez blessed the grains representing the new harvest.

High Mass in Konkani was celebrated on the occasion of Monti fest at our Parish by Rev Fr. Jochim Rodrigues, Rev Fr. Jochim D’souza along with our Parish Priest Rev Fr. Joseph Meneaez. Rev. Fr. Jochim Rodrigues gave a touching sermon the importance of Blessed Virgin Mary in our life.

Our choir doubled our joy of Nativity Feast with their beautiful hymns. Traditional offerings were offered during the High Mass.

Noven and sugarcane was distributed to all the families and guests. All the members and guests joined for a Traditional Mangalorean style Break Fast to show our solidarity and unity.
