Anup Saldanha elected President of KonCAB Bangalore

Bangalore, June 26: The KonCAB Annual General Body Meeting was held today
at Jyothi School Campus, Bangalore. The programme stated with Konkani Mass at
8.15 am celebrated by Rev. Fr. William Miranda, OCD. KonCAB members attended in
large numbers for the Konkani Mass. After the Konkani Mass breakfast was served.
The AGM started with a prayer led by Fr. Miranda,
OCD. Fr. Miranda is the Director of Carmel Jyothi NGO at Sadhbhavana,
Rajajinagar.
KonCAB Hon. Secretary Anup Saldanha read out the Secretary’s Report for the year
2010-11. Col. Alex Pereira, Treasurer, read out the Audited Accounts for the
year ended March 31, 2011. He also presented the Budget for the year 2011-12.
Both the reports and the budget were approved by the members present. Present
Auditor Mark D'Souza, CA, was reappointed for the year 2011-12.
Joachim Serrao, KonCAB representative at Konkani Welfare Trust (KWT) briefed the
progress in construction work and financial matters relating to the KWT building
coming up at Kammanahalli near the Ring Road.
Also during the meeting the members of the Men’s Cricket Team and Ladies
Throw-ball Team were honored captained by Roshan Fernandes and Ida Sequeira
respectively. Both the teams had won the Inter-association sports event
organized by FKCA. KonCAB is proud to announce during the meeting the happy news
of Kempegowda award received by Tony Lucas, KonCAB Sports Secretary in the BBMP
sports event. Since he was not present at the meeting, his wife Veera Lucas was
honored with bouquet.
KonCAB also honored senior members who worked tirelessly for the Association
during the past. On account of their efforts KonCAB is completing 20 years in
the service of Konkani Catholics of Bangalore. Lunch was served after the
meeting to mark this occasion.
Anup Saldanha has succeeded Nerry D’Silva as the new KonCAB President for a two
year term. He and his entire team was unanimously elected during Annual General
Body Meeting. Returning Officer Thomas D’Souza announced the names of the new
KonCAB Team for the year 2011-2013 which is as follows:
