FKCA Free Eye Camp
Bangalore, Oct 31: The Federation of Konkani Catholic Associations’
Bangalore together with Sri Sai Shankara Trust (R) Shankara Nethralaya Eye
Hospital and Research Centre, BANGALORE organized an Eye Check-up Camp at
Government Kannada Model Primary School, Pottery Town, Bangalore 560 034 on
Sunday, 31st October 2010.
Over 140 men and women were given free eye
consultation and spectacles. Eye surgeries were also conducted for patients in
need of them the following day at Shankara Nethralaya by the Federation. The
project was carried out by Mr.Valerian Fernandes, Chairman FKCA, Mrs.Philomena
Pereira, Secretary and Mrs.Severene D’silva , Project Director. FKCA Members –
Robert Cutinha, Naveen D’Souza and Lullus Cutinha were main volunteers for the
event. The Federation would like to thank the above members for their dedication
and hard work for this project.
The camp was inaugurated by local eminent personalities Mr. Sridhar and Mr.
Srinivas Corporator of Kammanahalli. Mr Jerry, Mr Alwyn Mendonca, Mrs Aida
D'Cunha and Mr Simon Lasrado were present on this occasion.
Team of Doctors led by Dr.Sowbhagya examined and treated the patients with
affection.
